The leaders and specialists of the KAMAZ foundry took part in the XIV International Congress of Casters held in Kazan.
The event was organized by the Russian Association of Casters (RAC), the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Regional Department of the RAC with the assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. About 600 experts in the field of casting technologies, representatives of Russia, the BRICS countries, China, India, Brazil, Belarus, Germany, Italy, the USA, England, Turkey, the Czech Republic and other countries participated in the congress
The start was given by Ildar Mingaleyev, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ivan Dibrov, the President of the RAC and Alexander Petrov, the Chairman of the Committee on Forging, Press and Casting of the Union of Mechanical Engineers. The exposition of the International Exhibition Casting-2019 was introduced after the opening ceremony with a symbolic red ribbon.
50 enterprises presented their products. Modern equipment, instruments, technologies and materials for foundry, castings, process control systems, information materials and much more were among the exhibits. KAMAZ casters presented the most complex castings at the exhibition: cylinder blocks and cylinder heads of various modifications. As Eduard Panfilov, the Director of the KAMAZ foundry, noted — these products allow us to demonstrate the capabilities of the enterprise as much as possible.
At the same time a plenary session with the condition and prospects of the foundry as the main topic of discussion was held. At the end of the first day of work, the organizers awarded the winners of the student foundry Olympiad in Naberezhnye Chelny on the eve of the congress. The venue for the competition was the KAMAZ foundry. Here, future foundry workers — the students of foundry majors of Russian universities — performed tasks immersed in the conditions of existing production.
On the second day of the Congress reports on the most pressing issues of the development of the foundry industry were presented. The work was carried out in three sections: in each of them KAMAZ specialists delivered a total of eight reports. With that, the Director of the foundry Eduard Panfilov shared his experience in the field of reengineering the existing foundry, and Sergey Zevakin, the Head of the laboratory of non-destructive testing methods, spoke about how X-ray quality of castings is carried out at the KAMAZ foundry.
During the third day (the excursions day) the participants got acquainted with the foundry enterprises of Tatarstan. The guests were shown with the work of the largest building — the production of iron castings at the KAMAZ foundry.
